Smell something? my apologies, it may be my garlic breath. We just launched the Online Store for The Stinking Rose Restaurant here in San Francisco (just up Columbus Ave from Fisherman's Wharf--they have a restaurant in Southern Cal as well). Wouldnt you love to add a garlic man bobblehead doll to your collection? me too. Check them out at http://www.thestinkingrosestore.com
Apparently we launched the online store for the world's largest online retailer of bicycles a couple days ago. I must say that i'm impressed... not only because we launched the website, but also (and perhaps more impressively) because they are the world's largest online retailer of bicycles? nice. Check out their vast inventory http://www.racycles.com
Their mission is to leave everyone who is in contact with them more fulfilled and freer to pursue what's important to them.Their work builds competence, resourcefulness, and lessens the friction and suffering of daily life. They take on the big issues—death, purpose, relationships, meaning—but also the ordinary concerns of time management, finances, and physical well-being. Sounds good to me: New Ventures West

It took some work and more back and forth than Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova, but we finished the rebrand and the new website for GI Partners. It was a fulfilling project and now they have an online presence that does not have the color navy blue in it! For an investment company, that is quite the accomplishment.
Recycled Denim, Eco Friendly Fashion - REUSE Jeans... Like denim? like recycling? you will therefore love recycled denim im guessing. We just launched the new online store for REUSE Jeans. They make their very cool looking jeans, shorts and skirts out of 80% recycled denim. sorry guys, ladies only.

"This site was fun to build.  Pretty easy to build a site when we are given amazing photos of the Bay Area." says Sol.  "Hopefully this site will serve as a fundraiser for this important cause." The Bay Institute has taken it upon their shoulders to look after the San Francisco Bay and its entire estuary, marsh system, and watershed. In addition they just assumed ownership of The Aquarium of the Bay down at Pier 39.
NETGEAR, makers of networking and storage devices, hired TheSpider, Inc. to build a landing page, emailer and multiple flash banners for their latest product: Stora.  Stora is a device that puts music, photos, videos and other important data at the heart of your home network.

The devlopment of this project involved delivering the entire project within 10 days, building CS4/CS3 flash animations, brainstorming ideas and preparing files for NETGEAR'S CMS.

New Client - REUSE 17 Sept 2009
REUSE hires TheSpider, Inc. to build an e-commerce site.  REUSE will sell eco-clothing made of recycled denim.

"We took on this project because it is a good idea.", says Sol.  "We've done boutique sites and we've done environmental themed websites, so we get to feed 2 niche markets with one client.  Making eco-fashion popular will be an important step in changing the world."

The site's photography will be done by Mason Foster, the same guy who did the photos for Anonymous Venice.

Like garlic? The world famous restaurant, The Stinking Rose, has hired TheSpider, Inc. to build its online e-commerce and gift card POS integration.

This is the second popular restaurant to hire TheSpider, Inc. this year; must be gaining a food niche.

TheSpider, Inc. unveils its long-awaited new website…

This brand new site showcases clients front and center offering links and screen shots from several of the sites built over the last 10 years -- and also introduces the talented individuals that make up TheSpider, Inc.

"Like any service company, it is hard to break away from the normal production schedule and work on ourselves, " says Sol.  "Glad we did, now get back to work!".

Watch for special photos on each page, exclusively by TheSpider staff, which showcase the beauty of San Francisco and beyond.  Tip: Click on images to see larger versions, click once more to minimize.

Jefferson unleashes a classic update of TheSpider’s unique iconography...

“It was challenging to come up with a new identity for a company called TheSpider," says the firm's 10-year design veteran. "There's a lot of spider artwork and spider logos out there..."

"My goal was to make something that was simple, clean and timeless.”

TheSpider, Inc. began working with Biosearch Technologies in 1999.

Sol remembers: “The first website was all about educating people about biosearch's services, an online corporate brochure to define who they are and what they offer.”

“The redesign was all about putting e-commerce closer to the forefront. The new site allows scientists and Universities the ability to order custom DNA synthesis online --just like going to Amazon and purchasing a book.”

“It was an enormously complex process with very customized functionality,” says Sol.

The challenge was bringing a tactical, “brick and mortar” bike rental company into the digital age.

Sol explains: “The basis of this project was asking: How can a bicycle rental company prepare themselves for the online world?”

“We taught them how to use a content management system [SpiderEdit]. Now not only is all of their inventory on their website but they show up at number one for the search word “bike rentals” -- their sales are way up.”

“Quest Diagnostics is the largest reference laboratory in the United States,” says Sol.

“We built the tool that supports all of their hospital business. So each time they get a new hospital account or project, that project is submitted through the website.”

“One of the things we brought to this project is a lot of modern technologies, such as AJAX, that made for a very intuitive, slick user interface and experience,” Sol says.

“Building this website was our first project to really emphasize events, a calendar,” says Sol.

“Rather than just listing dates in a chronological list, we were forced to push the envelope and create multiple views, tool tips, search filters, etc. so that movie goers can quickly find screenings and classes in a simple-to-use website interface.”

“The Society was an easy client to work with because they employ web designers, graphic artists, local artists…”

SFFS is the organization that oversees the annual San Francisco’s International Film Festival. “We went to the screening of ‘Moon’ -- an outstanding show at the Castro Theatre...  Each person at TheSpider got to see at least one film during the festival."

Anonymous Venice creates and sells apparel based on LA’s fashion scene and the artists and musicians of Venice Beach.

“This was our second stab at Anonymous Venice’s web design,” says Sol. “This time around, we tried to make it easy to find products with minimal click-throughs. They have over 20,000 SKUs -- and it’s important that a customer finds what they’re looking for quickly.”
